Totally Random Thursday

~Logan has finally learned to pump the swing all by himself. He spend a lot of time swinging, so we had to go get new hooks to hold up his swing before he hit the ground.

~It has been crazy weather around here. Last week we were in the low 90's every day and spent a lot of time out in the pool. This week we are struggling to hit the low 70's and can't get into the freezing cold water. It has been wonderful having the windows open and enjoying the spring like weather in July.

~Why do cats think you really really want birds delivered to your front door? Flowers would make a great "Thank You" instead of tail feathers!
(Becky did your two kittens get Abby's black nose? The other two did not.)

~Our sweet Monkey is 8 months old now! He is the most stubborn of all of them so far. If this is any indication as to how things are going to the rest of his life, let me start praying now. "Lord grant me the patience..."

fishing

Saturday Butch wanted to take the boys fishing. I had no plans of going, but he refused to take my camera for fear of breaking it. How could I possible let this blogging moment slip away? Well I didn't and ended up going. Breaden posing with his fishing pole.

Logan casted his out as soon as we got there. We didn't even get the blanket out before he was sitting and waiting.
Daddy helping Braeden cast his line out.
Dad helping Logan cast his out farther than the ten feet he could get on his own.
We ended up catching two fish in the two hours we were there. The poor Hubby spent most of the time putting worms on hooks and untangling lines instead of fishing.
I think their favorite part as releasing the fish back into the water and watching it swim away.
I am finding during the busy summer days there are just not enough hours in the day to fit in blogging in regularly. Is anyone else having this problem? Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far!!

Totally Random Thursday

~Does anyone know what these are? They come up every year and open every morning. I'm thinking some kind of wild Morning Glory, but I have no idea.

~It has been very hot and humid the last week. Just stepping outside make you catch your breath. We have spent at least a part of every day swimming in the pool. As you can see the humans in out house aren't the only ones enjoying it.
~My "baby" Hudson has grown up so much this week. Within a few days he started sitting up by himself, holding his own bottle and saying his first words. I was so ecstatic when "Ma Ma" started coming out of his mouth. My oldest two said "Da Da" first so I was hopeful to get one to say my name. The glory was very short lived. I got "Ma Ma" a full three days before "Da Da" come out. Oh well, at least I was first this time!!
~My cousin Madelyn is in the Cutest Kids Contest going on at WEtv.com. How do you say "No" to such a cute girl?! Please click here.

Happy Birthday Mom and Butch

Friday was my Mom's birthday. I had planned on having her and all the kids she babysits come over for pizza, cupcakes and swimming. Plans kind of changed. Wednesday night while The Hubby and I were starting to fall asleep he casually says, "I really wish we were going to be having a party for my 30th now." This is the same man who has refused to discuss his 30th for months now. So Thursday I started planning, cleaning and calling 50 people to see who could possibly attend a last minute 30th Birthday Bash. On Friday I drug my Mom to the store to get things for a BBQ. We spent 3 hours buying all the food and supplies.

We did manage to squeeze in some cupcakes and presents for her though. I don't think she cared a single bit though. She kept saying "I just want a new toaster and some flowers." So that's exactly what she got.

Saturday evening our guests started arriving in anticipation of our next birthday. We had roughly 25 show, which I didn't think was shabby considering a 2 day notice. We had a wonderful meal of grilled hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixin's, cake, a few drinks, and fresh fruit.

I had been dating Butch for about 2 weeks when I took him with me to my Mom's 4oth birthday party. We went to my Grandma's and someone had the bright idea to make party hats out of newspapers. As a 16 year old with a new boyfriend, I was mortified. Well my Grandma made him one to wear!
Did I mention there was alcohol involved?!
The boys had been wanting sooo badly to get Butch the giant Ohio State Brutus the Buckeye that blows up to 8 ft tall. I have been putting it off for 2 years now. Well I finally bit the bullet and we bought it for him as a Father's Day/birthday gift.
Yes, he seriously lights up at night. Can't you just hear the sarcasm, I mean excitement in that?!

Our eventful day

We have had a busy busy day. The boys and I got up early this morning to take Hudson to get his shots. I am so proud of him, NO tears at all!! He's one tough cookie. Doesn't he look so cute with this band-aids on this chubby little thighs? After shots we headed out to the van. Unfortunately I didn't notice the blinking light on the dashboard the entire 20 minute drive to the doctors. I guess I was hoping the van would fill itself up with gas! I had to call my Mom and bail me out. Thanks Mom!!
The boys and I then headed out to get The Hubby's Father's Day gift at the mall. I should of know how insane it would be at a 12 o'clock, but at least that's done. We then had lunch with my Mom and 2 of the kiddos she babysits at Bob Evans. I had chicken salad and fresh fruit, yummm!
After lunch we rushed home to babysit my cousin's little girl Madelyn. She is 10 months old and so stinkin' cute. Logan helped me make chocolate cookie bars.
Madelyn and Logan were on the clean up crew.
Hudson is the oldest of many of the babies we know. He had so much fun watching what an older woman can do! She kept pinning him to the floor and stealing kisses. It was so cute.
We then spent sometime outside swing on the play set and dipping our toes in the pool. It was so nice having another female in the house. The boys had a blast playing with her and so did I.
